Nestled in the low hills on the north coast of Mahon harbour, Sant Antoni overlooks the promenade near Cala Llonga. Overlooking the historic Isla del Rey (lit up during the summer months and at Christmas), the scenery is constantly changing during the day with yachts, fishing boats and ships sailing in these world famous waters. At night, the stunning sunsets and distant twinkling lights of Es Castell are magical. No wonder San Antoni is one of the most sought after areas of Menorca.
In contrast to the peace and quiet of San Antoni, a five-minute water taxi or car journey will take you to the lively restaurants, bars, galleries and seafront boutiques of Mahon. From here you can climb the ancient steps to the picturesque old town with an even greater selection of shops, restaurants and places of interest, including the colourful food and fish markets.
There are several sandy beaches close to San Antoni: the nearest is the beautiful cove of Cala Mesquida about 5 km away, while the picturesque fishing village of Es Grau with its wide horseshoe-shaped sandy beach is about 10 km away. Also worth a visit is the 19th century fortress of La Mola on the nearby promontory at the mouth of the harbour.
